Did you know that some of the plants growing right here in our Saskatchewan backyards, fields and forests have a long history of medicinal use?
Join Dr. Wendy Davis ND for a guided Wild Medicine Walk through MMPP and discover the incredible plants growing all around us.
During this two-hour outdoor experience, Dr. Wendy will help you identify local plants in their natural environment while sharing information about their traditional and modern uses, how they have been used as medicine, and different ways plants can be prepared for medicinal purposes.
What You’ll Learn 🌿
- How to recognize and identify a variety of local medicinal plants
- Traditional and modern uses of different plants
- Which parts of the plants may be used
- Ways medicinal plants can be prepared and transformed into herbal preparations
- Important considerations for safe and responsible use
- Practical information you can continue learning from at home
You’ll also receive educational handouts and resources to take home, so you can enjoy the walk without worrying about remembering every detail!
More Than a Plant Walk
This is also an opportunity to slow down, get outside, move your body and connect with both nature and a community of like-minded people.
Dr. Wendy will be available throughout the walk for conversation and questions, making this a relaxed, interactive learning experience rather than a formal classroom setting.
Come learn about the plants growing around us and reconnect with knowledge about plant medicine that humans have explored and passed down for generations.
