Does your emotional health need a bit of a re-boot?

Most people think of a detox as something to do for their physical health; a way to clean up their diet and their personal environments. However, there are a lot of emotional ‘toxins’ that we don’t consider. If you were drinking polluted water every day it would eventually build up and cause problems. Just think if you “drank in” negative emotions (internal or external) every day, that would also cause big problems too! Chai Spiced Sunflower Truffles

These are a perfect snack with a cup of tea in the afternoon. Ingredients 2 c Raw sunflower seeds  1 c Dates (pitted) 1T Cinnamon  1-2 T Coconut oil 1 t Powdered ginger  ½ t Cardamom Pinch Salt  1-2 T Maple syrup OR Raw honey ½ c Shredded coconut (unsweetened)    Instructions Combine seeds, spices and salt in food processor with S-blade until finely ground ~ 1-2 minutes Add dates, syrup and oil until sticky. Add more sweetener if necessary Roll mixture into balls and coat in shredded coconut Store in a fridge for 2 weeks

Merlot Bison Short Ribs

It is an unfortunate myth that too much red meat causes cardiovascular disease. It is, in fact, too much processed sugar, refined grains and excess consumption of seed oils that promotes poor heart health. Granted, poor quality meat full of antibiotics and hormones, that has been fried or cooked incorrectly can contribute to a decline in health, but high quality meat, such as grass fed bison, combined with a glass of heart healthy red wine, and a couple sides of heart healthy vegetables will promote a strong heart and a happy tummy.
